Free Lightroom course live webinar on creativetechs.com training site. Meets every Monday for 10 weeks starting today. They will post the class on their website for a week til the next class broadcasts. I am taking their free photoshop course and have found it helpful so far.

Found this rather advanced set of presets. They are designed for you to use to actually make your own presets. Called 'focus beauty builder lightroom presets". The directions include videos. They are verycool--especially for landscapes-IMHO.

There is a great thread going on over at Designer Digitals about using LR for tagging your digital items. Go check it out:

I always take advantage of the free course of the month (if you are a NAPP member). I have yet to get the time to use up my free month from the photowalk. Every class there is great! I am signed up for the CS4 Down and Dirty Tricks in Orlando in two weeks and excited about that. My trusted companion for LR is Scott Kelby's book. I refer back to that whenever I need to know something. The batch processing is amazing. Just got back from a trip to DC and was able to use batch processing for many of the photos with similar lighting. Saved so much time!

CandyK - what tutorials did you find most helpful at Kelbytraining.com?

Oh, what I would give to have the time to dedicate as I would want. Roll on retirement, I say! Work keeping me far too busy with very little time to play. After an initial look at Kelby Training I haven't even ventured there and my free month is nearly up! On top of that my laptop is away for repair so have a loaner but I haven't installed LR - too much bother for a short time. Hopefully my baby will be back soon. I'm praying they didn't reimage but expecting they will.

Thanks for the info Deb!
Anyone with successes to report? I'm getting ready to start back to school so spent one final tour at Kelby Training. What a resource! Housework? Laundry? not today, LOL

I hope it's OK to post this here . . .Eclectic Academy has a 6 week LR class starting in Sept. It's $30 and I've taken classes from the instructor before and she's fantastic. The classes are much like those here-you do the work at your own pace, a new assignment/lesson is given each week. There aren't any videos but the lessons are very well written and you can print them off. There's a class message board for questions and you can post your "homework" if you want (you can use the class "gallery" or where ever you normally post your photos online-I use an album in my Smugmug gallery). The classes are well worth the money.

Having some post-photowalk fun? I'm not sure I will end up with anything to actually enter, but its fun seeing what I can "Develop" with LR! Looving that adjustment brush...
Let's Keep in Touch!
