Hi there! Welcome to our fifth day of celebrating and dancing and singing and chowing on cake and ice cream! Are you ready for more fun today? YAY! A Big Hurrah for our b2 & w + 1 Birth-Day 5 Challenge Layouts And another hurrah! And yet another! You Spragbabes are rockin' our Challenge Gallery big-time! It was awesome to see our gallery sporting the black-and-white look on its thumbnail pages, plus a teeny bit of color thrown in! Here are some of the amazing Birth-Day 4 / June CAD-Day 4 layouts that we spotted in the gallery! Amanda J. used just a few spots of red on her terrific challenge layout: Scooter 59 added a touch of the summer sun on her great layout: CaroleMac put in a little block of red on her wonderfully graphic layout: flyingbinker used generous servings of black and some green to create her amazing layout: And jade645 used just the neutral colors in her classy wedding layout: To see more of this amazing eye-candy, visit our Challenge Gallery and feel most welcome to leave love for all our awesome Spraground artists! And speaking of artists, join me in welcoming our very own Spraground Creative Team! These awesome six ladies will be joining us on our Spraground, spreading love in the forums and art in the galleries! Let's all give great big hugs to:
You rock, ladies! Welcome to our community! Community Tip for the Day We really do love it when our Spraground family grows! Jessica tells us how we can keep growing with Today's Spraground Tip! Did you know you could invite people OUTSIDE the Spraground to join you in your new favorite community? It's super easy, too. Here's how! Click on Community at the top right of our home page. Then click the Friends tab and select Invite Friends. Simply add some emails of those you want to join the Spraground, type a message to them and hit Send! I'm sure you can think of someone who would love to be part of an awesome, crafty community like we have here! Here's something that you can share with your friends when you bring them over today... Photoshop Friday Tutorial Fridays have always been special on our Spraground because to most of us, the word "Friday" is invariably connected to the word "Photoshop!" Oh, how we all love Photoshop Fridays. And because today is Friday, we're having a special Photoshop Friday tutorial for our birthday week on our Spraground! And whee, it has to do with what most of us consider one of the most essential things in life: the internet (haha!). Have you ever stopped to think about how much you’re influenced by the internet? There are all kinds of tools and destinations we go to every day, and there are also great online tools you can use to help fill out your stories. Aaaand there's a great way to get these online babies scrapped on our layouts! Today Jes shows us how easy it is to include screen shots in our albums with this special video tutorial!Click on the image above to view our Photoshop Friday video tutorial from Jessica! We'll be using the Photoshop Friday tutorial for our challenge today! Birth-Day 5 / June CAD-Day 26 : Photoshop Friday Challenge For Jessica, who most certainly spends a huge amount of her time online, work and free time have blended together nicely right on our Spraground which she created 2 years ago (Yay! That's why we're partying! We're two years old!). Our dear Jessica met up with some of us in Chicago last June, on our first birthday, and we had the most awesome time together for the three days of our Beta Spragfest! It was such a lovely surprise to find out that that Jessica had scrapped some photos of our Spragfest, along with a screen shot of our home-on-the-web, our favorite place to be, the Spraground!
And here's Jessica's layout of her actual home (the one that houses the Spraground home, haha!):
See those awesome screen shots that she used? We're going to do the same thing with our challenge today! Here's how we'll play: 1. Use the Photoshop Friday tutorial to learn how to create a screen shot and bring it into your Photoshop workspace. 2. Create a layout using one or more screen shots. It can be a screen shot of where you live with your address (see Jessica's layout above), or it can be a screenshot of your favorite places to visit on the web (again see Jessica's layout above), or it could be a screen shot of anything. As long as it's one you captured with a keyboard button, you're good to go! 3. Upload your layout to our Challenge Gallery, then look for the "Birth-Day 5/ June CAD-Day 26" thread in the sticky area and post on that thread once you've uploaded because we want to know when we can run to the gallery and do the whoopeedee-do celebratory dance! 4. Include "Birth-Day 5 / JuneCAD-Day 26" in your layout title when you upload it. 5. Have an immensely enjoyable time today! And nope, we have not forgotten that it's... Freebie Time! And speaking of immensely enjoyable, here is a super-terrific set of wordart and flower stickers by none other than our very own Jessica! Woohoo! Click on the image above to download today's Birthday Goodie! (And make sure you grab it before 10AM Eastern Standard Time tomorrow, when it moves to our shop and is replaced by another fab freebie). Have a wonderful Photoshop Phriday!

Unless I'm missing something, Internet Explorer 8 users will have to use the Window's "Snip Tool" to capture a screen shot in order to send it to the clipboard. Clicking the print button does not copy to the clipboard, it only prints. At least that has been my experience.

I always forget about screen shots! Thanks for the reminder!
I'm so sad I can't make it to DSE this year and meet some you fabulous people. Happy birthday! Maybe the 3rd birthday celebration would return to Chicago? Look at me, I'm already planning a year out! (Probably why I was already booked for a mini-college reunion the same weekend at DSE this year! What goes around, comes around.) 8

I love today's tutorial, I was wondering how everyone gets such clear shots of their screens (as I was taking pics with my camera instead!!) My only problem is that when I hit my print screen, it brings up the print dialogue and isn't putting it on the clipboard. Is there any other way to save the page or screen shot to the clipboard?? Thanks, Rose

On the MAC, it's Command, Shift, 3. I too sometimes call the Command key Control from all my years on a PC.

I'm on a Macbook Pro using Leopard and that shortcut for grabbing the screen didn't work - I have to use a utility on my laptop called "Grab". And worked in a most awesome way - you can grab whatever part of the screen you want.
