This is Why (Stephani Scrapbooks) Print

I have loved photography since I was a kid. Take my "ever so cool" Kodak 110 camera (oh so cool to me back in the day!), throw in a love for baking birthday cakes for anyone who would eat them, and I was hooked! Flash forward to my teen years and junior high school; I was the geeky photography club member, taking pictures of the goofy bands who played at school dances and spending endless lunch hours in the developing room. Though I was always drawn to photos, it was only a dream for a very long time to have a "real" camera!

To geek it up even more, I loved to write. Short stories, poems...I even have the old handwritten copy of my version of what I thought, at 14, would be the next "Sweet Valley High". My words, penned in boring old handwriting on dreary lined pages, stayed in my private journals. They were great stories, but not an enticing way to get me to re-read and remember.

I have always been crafty: sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking, cardmaking, tole painting, cake making, decorating, journaling, etc. There was never enough time to do all the stuff I wanted to do. I am a nurse, but if I had the chance to relive my life, I would pursue a career involving my creativity. Creativity runs through my veins.

Spraground Superstar Print

Cuteness abounds in this week's Scrapbook Challenge.  Liv's inspiration?  The website redvelvetart.com.

Forget Eye Candy--this is Eye Cheesecake.  From the doodles to the design, photo, and colorization...Wow!  Mama like.  Alot.  And this week's submitted layouts are divine!  I don't play favorites, cause they are all amazing...but you have to look at Heidi's (HLHL) layout.  Lady rocked the house!  And our man Earl - his layout - ALL his own work!  Including the font!  So cool!

I know you are just dying to know who our winner is this week!  And it's a good one, I tell ya. But first I have to ask - how are you at puzzles?  Here's your clue:

How'd you do?  I went easy on you - it IS Friday.  Yay DebbietheBee!!  You are this week's Spraground Sassafras!  Go strut your stuff!  You've got 5 Spragbucks coming your way!!  Lunch is on you, right?  :-)  Check out her too-cute-for-words layout:

Loving the doodles!!  They are de-lish!  And that picture alone speaks volumes.  Great job Debbie!!!

In honor of our Superstar, and the best maker of snack cakes in the world, I'll leave you with one of my favorite childhood treats.  Take a Little Debbie Fudge Round - put it in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.  Scoop some ice cream on top, and get ready to dance, monkey.  It will take you to your happy place!  Have a fantastic Friday!

Hybrid Thursdays Print

Hi, my name is Laurie and I have an addiction. No, I am not talking about my scrapbooking supplies, although I know I have a definite problem there. I am talking about home decor items. You should see the amount of Christmas decorations that are about to take over my household. I have been trying to limit my spending on Christmas decorations because I have so many, but it is hard when it is around every corner starting in July. So I have moved onto another season--Fall.

The last two years I have been drawn to all things Fall. When I saw Crystal's November Collection featuring the "Happy Little Owls", my heart melted. I knew I needed to give an owl a home in my house.  I created this fun little wreath to hang in my house as a nesting spot for my hooting little friend. You can make your own and I will show you how.

Hybrid Hotshots Print

Get ready to flash back in time this week with our Hybrid Hotshot. Kristen took us back to the '80s yesterday with her Cure inspired One Buck Wednesday jingle. Today LuAnn (AKA wildblueeyez) transports us to another decade with her '70s inspired card.

Time to get out your bell bottoms and strike a pose! Isn't this card so fun? I love the funky colors and design. Makes me want to get my groove on, but don't worry. I will spare you. Congratulations, LuAnn! Thanks for sharing your hybrid hotness!
