Spraground Superstar Print

In this week's epidsode of Spraground Challenge, our Linda offered us a very delectable palette of colors to choose from.  Forget scrapping in these, I want to live in these colors!  If you haven't had a chance, take a scroll stroll through this week's inspiring submissions.  You don't want to miss Joan's (bestsides) tribute to DSE :-), Earl's page channeling Andy Warhol or sweet Ann (pinewoodtoo) in a :gasp: swimsuit - just to name a few!

"And the lucky winner of 5 spragbucks?" you ask.  Drum roll, please.  Pugsley, canine #2, was feeling a little left out after Roscoe's debut last week. I figured, he IS just as awesome as Roscoe and Random.org, so we'd give him a turn.  And after a quick run through of One Potato, Two Potato...  the winner is:

{He's such a one-upper --spelling out the winner in Kibbles and Bits.  Roscoe said, "It is on!"

Congratulations LuannW - you are this week's Spraground Superstar!  Join me in ooohing and ahhhhing  and "Espressing" our love over her magnificent layout!

Isn't that one giant piece of eye candy?  I'd swear this layout was scratch-and-sniff, 'cause I can smell the espresso from here.  And it makes me miss of our Coffee Queen Liv.  Sniff, sniff.  What a great way to start the day!  Enjoy your cuppa with Luann and have a happy Friday!

Putting it Together Print

The other day as I was driving, I was struck with how the leaves have suddenly changed their color to luscious yellows and reds here in New Mexico. With New Mexico being a desert land, it is amazing what those warm colors do for the scenery.

What's it like where you live right now? Are you having 90 degree weather still, are you enjoying the crisp coolness of autumn, or are you already battling snowy weather? I was struck by this layout by creative team member Lisa VanderVeen. Her hilarious journaling shows that things aren't always what they seem, even in Hollywood.

Have you been dying to scrap your photos from that trip to the pumpkin patch last weekend or even from last year? Simply pop those pictures into an awesome template from Jessica Sprague, as Renee Moris-Dezember did in this layout. Her beautiful use of patterned paper plays up her pictures and lets them take center stage.

This is Why (Karen Scrapbooks) Print
When I was little, my parents had a group of friends that had kids my age. They were mean to me and did not want me around. Because of this experience, I had the idea that I did not belong and that people did not like being around me. Over the years, many things happened to show me otherwise, but these ideas stayed with me.

A little over a year ago, I found a box of photos from my childhood and teenage years. I looked at the photos over and over again. I realized that I was smiling in all of them and even laughing in some. People surrounded me and had their arms on my shoulders. Looking through these pictures it hit me that I was wrong. I had belonged, I was loved, and I had hundreds of photos to prove it.

Moved by this realization, I grabbed a mini-book, glued the photos in it, and journaled throughout its pages. I journaled for seven hours, wanting to capture this moment of revelation. I knew it would give me something to revisit if I became delusional again. It was energizing and life-changing.

It was then that I decided to recreate this therapeutic experience again and share it with others. I started Creative Therapy to encourage myself and others to benefit from the amazing healing power of art.
