Spraground Superstar Print

To round out the Winner's Circle this week, (shout-out to Kari and her Hybrid hotness) why don't we announce the winner of the Spraground Scrapbook Challenge?  Special thanks to our Earl, for leading the challenge this week with his awesome Template!

Take a looky at the amazing pages created in the Challenge Gallery.  See how versatile a template can be.  Check out how Michelle (mbdblue) added a cool acrylic bracket, or Luann's conversion to a 2-pager and Kim H's conversion to 8.5x11.   See how Miki used a photo as her background layer and Jill C. went totally black and white.  See what I mean?  Total versatility.  Endless design possibilities.  I can hear the wheels turning from here as you think of the templates in your digi stash...

Now that I've properly distracted you, how 'bout we announce the winner of this week's entries.  Now, our dear Laurie used a random number generator to select the Hybrid champion.  Totally impartial, right?  Random.org is awesome, but so is my dog Roscoe.  So I had him choose this week's winner.  But don't worry, he is impartial as the day is long.   And the victor is:

(He really is excited.)

Congratulations Lisa T!  You are the winner of a $5 gift certificate!!  Woo-hoo!  While she takes a victory lap around the kitchen, let's admire her work:

The choice of colors complements her photos perfectly, and I am dying over the apple background.  It really ties the whole layout together!  Awesome work Lisa!

Check the General Forum for next week's challenge.  Be sure to have your layout posted by Thursday, Midnight Eastern-Time to be included in next week's drawing!  And you could be the next Spraground Superstar!!  Happy Friday my friends!

Hybrid Thursdays Print

In today's edition of Hybrid Thursdays, we are going to explore the world of epoxy stickers. What is it about stickers that is so magical? Maybe it goes back to my childhood. Whenever I did a good job in school or I behaved well at the doctor's office, I got a sticker. Somehow all of the hard work or pain and suffering was all of sudden worth it. Do you do that today with your kids?

I have to admit, I have some hideous scrapbook pages featuring sticker madness. Luckily, I have learned to tone down the sticker craziness, but I still like to feature them on my scrapbook pages. This page I did of my son features epoxy stickers that I made from Crystal Wilkerson's August '09 Collection. I will show you how easy it is to make your own epoxy stickers from your digital stash. So get in touch with your inner child and let's get crackin!

Hybrid Hotshots Print

Welcome to our first edition of Hybrid Hotshots where we show off the talented hybrid artists here at Jessica Sprague. Have you checked out the hybrid gallery? There is so much yummy goodness going up in there.

Every Thursday we will be picking a random winner from the hybrid gallery to showcase right here on the Jessica Sprague homepage. Not only do you get the bragging rights of being a hotshot, you will also receive a $5 gift coupon for the store. So get uploading, friends!

Using the random number generator at random.org, I determined our winning file number to be 21. How fitting, don’t you think?

The owner of lucky number 21 is Kari Holt (aka karistamps) with her Sonic drink carrier turned caramel apple kit. (We must really love caramel apples around here. MMM!) Just when you thought a trip to Sonic couldn’t get any better, now you can scraplift Kari’s awesome idea of re-using those drink holders and turn them into an awesome caramel apple kit to share with friends and family. Love it! Congratulations, Kari!

Putting it Together Print

One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of October is pumpkins. We love going to the local pumpkin patch every year. Not only is it the perfect place to find a pumpkin, but it is also the perfect place to take vivid fall photos.

Shannon Bogan created this gorgeous page to document a trip to the pumpkin patch using products from Crystal Wilkerson's September '09 Collection and her August '09 Collection. I love that she went with a  non-traditional color scheme in this layout and used blue instead of orange. Challenge yourself to use a non-traditional color scheme on a scrapbook page and see where your creative juices lead you.
