That's what this album is all about - we'll combine photos of our everyday loves, together with inspiring quotes, and a little bit of bling to create an album we can look at again and again to put a smile on our faces!
One of my favorite ways to take advantage of the power of the computer as a scrapbook tool is in making albums. After you have a basic framework laid out, the album comes together in a snap! I'll show you secrets for producing albums that are visually stunning, but streamlined in production.
This album is an accordion-style album we'll create from scratch, and I know it's a pattern you'll be using over and over again! I can't wait to show you!
What You'll Learn
In the Photoshop screencast (for Elements and CS4), I'll show you how to:
- Create new Photoshop documents to hold photos, quotes, and a little bit of journaling
- Add digital frames to photo edges
- Justify type
- Speed production of a multi-page album with quick Photoshop tricks
In the video class, I'll show you how to:
- Create an accordion album from 5 sheets of cardstock
- Add a loose binding to your album for a clean, put-together look and a self-tie!
- Punch up the impact of an album with color, pattern, and placement
- Create a secret pocket page for the final page of the album
What You'll Need
For all the Scrapbook Alchemy classes, you'll need just a few basic tools:
- Photoshop Elements 5, 6, or 7 OR Photoshop CS2, CS3, or CS4
- An inkjet printer capable of printing photos (letter-sized is fine, no need for a wide-format)
- Photo paper
- Scissors
- Trimmer
- Adhesive
- Pencil
Scrapbook supplies you'll need:
- Matte board (available at your frame or craft store)
- Cardstock
- Coordinating patterned papers
- Chipboard letters
- 3-inch circle or scalloped-circle punch
- Self-adhesive rhinestones
- Liquid glue
- Twill or grosgrain ribbon for the binding
- Other ribbon for tying the tags
