In Episode 2

A poem by Emily Dickinson, called "I Dwell in Possibility" is the inspiration for our one-page project that features a four-photo block, a stitched frame, digital wings, and swirling patterned paper printed and cut from a pattern.

You'll experience a smooth transition from the video class into the Photoshop instruction, and then back to the video to assemble and complete the project. You'll LOVE how easy it is to learn amazing techniques you can use in dozens of different pages!

What You'll Learn

In the Photoshop screencast (recorded in both Elements and CS4), I'll show you how to:

  • Convert photos to black-and-white using automated tools
  • Add and resize four photos to create a photo block
  • Draw a stitching guide using the Brush tool
  • Add a journaling block
  • Separate sentences with dingbat images
  • Add digital wings to a photo
  • Print digital patterns onto traditional patterned paper for cutting shapes

In the video class, I'll show you how to:

  • Cut apart, assemble, and adhere your project
  • Use a printed pattern as a guide for stitching
  • Tear paper with a guide
  • Cut and adhere swirling shapes, and add dimension with foam adhesive
