In Episode 1
In this one-page layout, we'll focus on recording a single quotation - we'll actually be setting the quote in two different fonts, with semi-transparent quotation marks to really play up the words.
You'll experience a smooth transition from the video class into the Photoshop instruction, and then back to the video to assemble and complete the project. You'll LOVE how easy it is to learn amazing techniques you can use in dozens of different pages!
What You'll Learn
In the Photoshop screencast (recorded in both Elements and CS4), I'll show you how to:
- Convert photos to black-and-white using automated tools
- Add and resize three photos to create a photo block
- Create a border around the photos to frame them
- Add a title in two fonts
- Add semi-transparent quotation marks
- Add journaling strips in white type on red patterned paper
- Print the project onto a letter-sized sheet of photo paper to cut apart and assemble
In the video class, I'll show you how to:
- Cut apart, assemble, and adhere your project
- Round corners
- Add glitter to punched shapes to create custom embellishments
- Complete the project with an eye toward the flow of the design
What You'll Need
For all the Scrapbook Alchemy classes, you'll need a few basic tools:
- Photoshop Elements 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, Photoshop CS2, CS3, CS4, and CS5
- An inkjet printer capable of printing photos (letter-sized is fine, no need for a wide-format)
- Photo paper
- Scissors
- Trimmer
