Hello Art Journalers!!
Sorry to be late with this month's challenge... I just got back from visiting my sister in California.
We had so much fun last month with using an inspiration piece for our challenge that I thought we could do this again. This time I have four inspiration pieces...
**** PLEASE NOTE *****
Just a gentle reminder that our inspiration pieces are for jumping off points for our creativity and not meant to be backgrounds for our pages. I just want to make sure to honor the original artists that created them.
This month the theme is all about CIRCLES! I love circles...when I paint or draw they are usually the first thing I think of. There is something almost meditative about drawing them. There is a Zen meditation practice of "drawing the perfect circle" with a calligraphy brush. The circle is the most primitive of all human inventions. It is also the cornerstone in the foundation of science and technology. It is the basic tool of all engineers and designers. It is used by the greatest artists and architects in the history of mankind.
What does a "circle" mean to you?
Is it the beginning of a flower?
Is it something that feels complete?
What kinds of circles are you attracted to?
Do you love spirals? I do!
Try using the circles as a photo mask, a
journaling background, the beginning of a cluster
of flowers or just as as accent on your page.
Use the inspiration pieces above as starting off point. Or visit Pinterest and put in the word "circles".
Here is a
little brush set to get you started!
I can't wait to see what you come up with this month...don't forget to post your pages in the Art Journal Challenge gallery and come back here to link us up!
Enjoy!
Nan
