Hello Art Journalers!! Happy (almost Spring)!!
I have a fun but a bit different challenge for you today... I am going to push you outside of your comfort zones okay?
Lately I have been drawing and sketching alot - as part of a an online class I am taking but also to push myself a bit with my art. To get away from using clipart for my creations and instead go to my imagination. It's been a bit daunting, somewhat terrifying but in the end I am creating things I never imagined. I also have found that drawing, or doodling, helps my mind and centers and calms me. I lose track of time and it's become like a meditation.
Now I know that most of us got into digital scrapbooking — and digital art journaling — to get away from pen and paper. However, what if we could marry the two - digi and traditional? Stay with me now....
What I would like to see this month is for you to
DAYDREAM
Now. You can simply take that prompt and run with it and go all digital. OR...
You can use the prompt to begin doodling.
A doodle is an unfocused or unconscious drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes.
And incorporate those doodles into your page. Either use traditional pen and paper, or doodle right into your computer if you have a wacom pad. Or use your iPad to draw something and then incorporate that in your Art Journal Page.
Here are a few doodles that I made in my sketchbook, using a Micron Pen. I then scanned them in and made brushes with them. I have put these on Dropbox as I'm having issues with my host server right now.
