I hope everyone had a great 4 of July here in the states and got some wonderful fireworks photos.
This week we are doing a photo treatment using a grunge frame in this week's Photoshop Friday Challenge. There is a free frame to download with this tutorial.
The tutorial is here.
We want you to try to mix it up a bit so make sure you read all the way down to the bottom of the tutorial and try the different ideas Jess shows for this technique.
We look forward to seeing your layouts using the grunge frames! |

Thanks, Lisa for this challenge. I was working on Jessica's tutorial on How to Make a Handtinted picture. I used this exact frame from one of her classes.

OK. I've read through the tutorial. I can't figure out how to delete a word from the mask. I'm sure it's something very simple that I'm missing. I'm working in both PSE 4 at home and PSE 5 at work.

I figured it out. I read through the tutorial linked. Then I found a tutorial on using a mask and a brush to let patterned paper show through. Then I made my word and defined it as a brush, then followed the rest of the tutorial on using a brush to let patterned paper show through, and it worked. I now have a red filled "frame" behind my photo w/ the provided grunge frame and my word brush shows the red as well. There may be an easier way, but at least I found one that works.

I'm so glad to be back into this -- the spring was so crazy for me I haven't scrapped since Digi Deep. Can't wait for Deeper!!!!
