One thing leads to another, right?! I've just taken the Pixa organization class (which was excellent). But in the process, it seems Pixa effectively doubles the files on my EHD by creating a whole new library, and that means I have had to buy a new, bigger EHD… I am keeping both the Pixa library AND my digi stash on the EHD so it doesn't overwhelm my iMac HD.

So now I have a whole terabyte to fill with digi goodness! Beyond exciting….

First, I have to transfer all the files from the old EHD to the new one. Is it as easy as hooking both up to the Mac at the same time and doing a "drag and drop" between drives? Both drives are identical except for storage size. Almost sounds too simple...

Would appreciate any advice before I do anything…

Yes, it really is. Make sure you have the drive formatted the way you want before you start. I find that you can't use a FAT format if you want time machine to back it up. It's worth trying a few files first, just to make sure you have what you want.
