How do you organize you digital kits? 9 Years, 6 Months ago
I am new to digital scrapbooking and I am looking for a program to use to organize my digital kits. I'm looking for a program that I can easily navigate to find the embellishment or paper that I need (ie. Search tool and tags to find red paper). Right now I am searching in multiple folders on my laptop, very time consuming! I don't necessarily need the program to organize my pictures.

I do use Picasa to edit my pics, Does anyone use Picasa for digital kit organization?

I am using Photoshop Element 12 on a Windows 8 laptop.

What program do you use, and why?

A lot of people love the PSE Organizer that comes with Photoshop Elements. PSE Organizer allows you to tag many file formats, but not all. I prefer ACDSee, as it is a Digital Asset Manager software. In ACDsee, you can tag virtually all file formats. Also, ACDSee uses your computer's folder/file tree. PSE creates its own tree.

Another option is to tag JPG or TIFF files using Windows Library. If you download Windows Photo Gallery, you have a few more file formats you are allowed to tag, but still not as many as PSE Organizer or ACDSee.

It all just depends on how many file formats you want to be able to tag. You might want to search online for each of these options I've mentioned to read what formats you are allowed to tag.

A lot of people use Picasa for this. If you are already familiar with it, it might be the easiest transition for you.

If Jessica offers it, I've probably taken it.
