Hi, I'm so EXCITED about the new typy-ology class. THANK YOU Jessica and I'm so grateful you are feeling better.

My question is: I have taken the two previous typography classes and also Jessica Sprague's Poster class. Will this class be all new designs and information?

Just noticed that there is a book to purchase--there is a link in the class description. Looking through the book, I can see where I could really learn a lot about amping up my pages with varied type methods.

I am so excited for this class! I have definitely missed Jessica!

How badly do we need the book to take this class? I am just a family scrapbooker - I don't know how technical I need to get. Would appreciate someone's opinion as to whether I can take the class without the book. Thank you!

I read the reviews of the book and they are quite mixed. I'm reluctant to spend money on something I don't REALLY need. How important is it to being successful with this class?

Not really sure if anyone can answer that but Jessica. If you have a Kindle or iPad you can wait until the class starts and buy it on the spot. Otherwise, I don't think she would have said that we needed it, if it was not necessary. I guess I was not much help....

One of the reviews that I read somewhere..., said it was impossible to deal with on a reader. I think that may have been an Amazon review. I have purchased a book which was on the fiction bestseller list which had a reference map and it was not doable, for what all of that is worth.

I got the book. It's very graphical. If you had a full color reader, it might work. I wouldn't want to read it on my Paperwhite (black and white reader).

There is an entire PDF of the 1st edition of the book to download from a library on the internet. I'm not sure if that is enough or not. You just need to Google Helen Upton Thinking with Type and download it for free. Ellen Upton also has a site of her own with many of the pages of the book available. I don't know if this will be enough or not for the class. I found these sites when I was trying to preview the book. I'm reading it on my computer and it works just fine but then we use a TV for a monitor. I'm willing to buy the book if this isn't enough for the class.

I wonder if the book on line will be enough for the class?

Is anyone else having trouble seeing their class under my classes? My class was listed close to my Art of Digital Design Classes and then this afternoon it disappeared.

Can you see The new Typy-ology class in your list of classes? Mine disappeared. I've taken the 2 previous typography classes as well as many more. Also worked in the Graphic Design world.

Nope.... not showing in "my classes" but I'm sure everything is fine and it will be there when it is time.

Also, I see in the class notes where Jessica says the Kindle version works fine and recommends you use a free Kindle reader (meaning full color, I"m guessing) like the one on your computer.

Yes, the reader on the computer is full color. The reader is free through Amazon.

Yes, it is in color... the only way I read books now. That is the version I bought for the class.

Do the mentors have the class already? I purchased the Type-ology class but it still hasn't resurfaced in my list of My Classes. It would have been nice to see the syllabi before the class started. I sent a support ticket as well.

Looking forward to the Class. I have taken most of Jessica's classes and am glad that she is teaching again!
