Susan, when I click on this link it says I don't have proper access. Interesting since I paid for the class unless the outline is only for mentors. I paid for the class on January 21. Is the outline the syllabi?

Lots of time when it is a brand new class, Jessica works on it and tweaks it as we go. So she may still be in her tweaking phase. (I almost wrote twerking phase but who knows, she may be twerking also)
I am really looking forward to it. I bought a couple of new fonts that I can't wait to incorporate and it says something about type on a path which I have never learned. If you are checking in Jessica, so glad you are feeling better. {hugs}
My 2 new fonts are bellow. They are beautiful! You can select certain letters and change the flourish. Each comes with loads of different options, had never seen anything like them.
Pretty Script

My 2 favorites are by font designer Laura Worthington. Samantha Upright Pro and Gioviale are my favorites. They are so beautiful; I need to bring some of extra glyphs in from Illustrator though. I been searching on one of my other sites for ideas since I can't see the syllabi yet.

Typing on a path is like drawing a circle or shape but you can't see the filled in shape when you are done. Do you use Photoshop or Photoshop elements? I have Photoshop CS6. Is there a way to private message you a site that is free that shows how to do it?

Kimi, I have those fonts too, but can't use the twirls because I only have photoshop CS4. The twirls (glyphs) can only be found in Illustrator? Is that correct? Or am I missing something? Thank you.

No, he updated the font... so many of us were saying we only had Photoshop. I just added the "So Pretty" to my laptop, it comes with 11 versions! So everything is there! (I would contact them, they should be really good about giving you the updated versions)
Susan.... Go for it!! Such fun when we find those dream fonts. Isabella comes with 4 different version, you can highlight a letter and put your flourish on the left or right side by just selecting that font version. So Cool!
Thanks for the help Grace. I kinda get the font on the path thingy. I have done it before but it is not something that I would do often so, I have never had a reason to work it again. I am going to wait for the class. Gives me something to look forward to.

Grace38, the mentors can't see anything more than anyone else. No peeks behind the curtain! It adds to the surprise of it all. But if you don't have your class in your list, a support ticket is the right choice. They are the only ones who can fix that.

Dear Terebene,
I have filed more the one ticket and no answer in more than 5 days. I hope Jessica is o.k. Also I included Tori in one of tickets as well so they know. My Type-ology class never came back under my classes and I can't see the syllabi. Oh well, I ordered the book special and I've been working on part of it on my own. I hope it all comes together by the first day of class.
Oh, it anyone is interested I use Illustrator all of the time and if we are allowed to post I noticed a few sites that tell you how to open some of the extra glyphs in Photoshop. I have Photoshop CS6 plus actually the whole suite. If I'm allowed to post the sites I would be glad to do it.

Is it "So Pretty" or "Pretty Script" that has 11 versions? I'm looking for it on the website you suggested. Thanks for your answer and help.

Grace - has it shown up yet? It should be a red icon under the Digital Design Category just above the Photoshop Fridays.
Here is the Syllabus posted - but keep in mind this is a new class meaning Beta Class. So Jessica will tweak as the class lessons roll out based on comments and tangents of interest or points needing more clarification.
If you still do not see the class showing by January 31st I'll send Jess a private message to have her check on things. I think there has been some change to the support ticket system in recent months. Hopefully the tickets are getting through.

Kim... this is the "Pretty Script". It has 11 versions to pick from, so you can highlight a single letter and change it. Click on the picture, it shows the fonts listed as I see them in Photoshop. If you bought it already, just contact the designer, I'm sure they will be happy to send you the new version.
Grace, it is called Pretty Script
And this one is called Pretty Script
I was wrong, it wasn't Isabella that had the other versions. It is AlaNice. It has 4 version. This is the one where your can decide if you want the flourish on the right or left side and one is just flourishes. I am using this one as my copyright signature. Click on the image, it shows the fonts.
I got AlaNice here
Excuse the iphone picture I was moving.

Hi,
I bought the 21 fonts for $29. They are beautiful. Many are handpainted/hand drawn.
Here is the link.
There are a lot of freebies on the designcuts.com website. Also, if you sign up for the newsletter--I have received one--included was a tutorial and a freebie.

Dear Bestsides,
Thanks so much for the Syllabi; I appreciate it so much!!!
The class still isn't showing. It was where you said after I bought it and then it disappeared. The class has been charged to my credit card.
If you can do that on 31st that would be great. I don't think I'm the only one.
Also Jessica had e-mailed when I had a question about the class so I did a reply off of that so she knows. I'm sure she is very busy getting ready for the class.
Thanks again for the syllabi.

I bought that font deal from Design Cuts. My two favorites at the moment are Caferus and Manhattan Darling. I just started playing around with Lulo. It's a stackable font with an outline. ~Ann

Hi Ann....
the only one that really caught my eye in the bundle was Caferus. Do you like it? I have a few of the ones listed so it really doesn't pay for me to get the bundle. But I may go and search out Caferus on it's own.

Just to comment on a post from earlier, Tori no longer monitors the support tickets. She and Kristen have left the site for other pursuits. But of course the support ticket system is still in place.

All this talk about type made me think of a video I saw years ago. He showed how to take your current font and re-adjust it using the pen tool. I thought it was so cool, one of the reasons I moved to Photoshop. (haven't thought about it in years) Now I have to go and look for a video.
