Nikon D7100 Won't Work in CS4 Help! 10 Years, 3 Months ago

I just got a Nikon D7100 for Xmas and the NEF RAW images won't open in my CS4 program. Does anyone have a workaround for this. I read somewhere that Lightroom 5 would open the NEF files and convert them to DNG files, which I could then open in CS4. The Adobe agent I just chatted with said this was choppy.

Does anyone have any ideas? I hate to have to pay Adobe $9.99/month, but maybe it's time.
It makes me sad that: a) Nikon has a stupid proprietary format and b)After paying so much for CS4, it's not too useful anymore for my photograpy.

I hope someone has an idea which isn't too cumbersome and will work.

Converting or saving to the DNG format www.lynda.com/Photoshop-tutorials/Conver...124076/139225-4.html I know that I do not have the dng format but I am able to open my nikkon images in photoshop cs5n and camera raw
