My niece just got engaged [finally!] and asked me to take engagement pictures for her. I would love to do this, but it's out of state. Like.... a full day's drive out of state. She hasn't lived there very long so I'm concerned about her knowledge of spots for good photos of them. [I have told her that I wouldn't be offended at all if they found someone locally to do it. However I know money is a concern, since they're young and really just starting in their adult/post-college lives.]
They're both into crossfit and he's a firefighter, so I have been googling some ideas that use those parts of their lives in photos. I'd still like to get some more romantic/traditional shots.
Are there any sites that discuss good places for this? I know I've asked Candice in classes, but this isn't me scouting out and making notes as I'm going about town.
Alternately, any fellow shutterbugs in the Columbia, SC area that can make suggestions for locations and/or good yet reasonable photographers?
