Anna Louise - thank you so very much! He is better - buy is now convinced that his time on earth is short - I worry that he will sort of give up. Can't believe such an attitude is coming from the 1st person to finish college (and then go on med school) in his family! My prayers now are for optimism and realization that he is still here because God still has a purpose for him here. Thank you!

Sending prayers your way! My mom has been very sick and having similar issues with wanting to give up! I just keep encouraging her and spend as much time with her as I can. Spending time with grandkids works well too! Good luck to you!

I think that him feeling a little discouraged is part of the symptoms / diagnosis/ recovery. Once he starts to gain his strength back he will see that he has much to be thankful for and much to do. Remind him of all the rolls he plays, father, husband, grandfather,and those are just a few. He is probably just really tired physically, emotionally and spiritually. I suggest as others have, that you continue to encourage him as he builds his strength. I will keep you all in my prayers and ask the Lord to give him vision to see what he has yet in his path here on Earth.

Meg, How are things going with your Dad? I hope things are improving! My mom is getting ready to come home from the nursing home and I am so worried about her being by herself! She has made some major improvements in being more independent. She had another scan and is still cancer free. I know it will be ok. I hope things are better for you!

Carole - you are so sweet to ask! He is doing well. He finished cardiac rehab and seems to be gaining some of his strength back. He and my mom just went on a medical mission trip to Belize - which really kind of surprised me!

I will keep you and your mom in my prayers - hope that her health continues to improve and that the adjustment from coming home is a smooth one - keep us posted! Hugs, Meg
